Thunderbirds announce trade with Northern Lights

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –The Twin City Thunderbirds have completed a trade with the Minnesota Northern Lights. Twin City has acquired the rights to defenseman Jordan Rosenbaum from Minnesota in exchange for the rights to forwards Brad Reitter, Chris Corgan, and T.J. Prexler.

Jordan Rosenbaum, 25, Defenseman, of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, appeared in twenty-seven FPHL regular-season games during his first professional season in 2025-2026. He began the year with the Athens Rock Lobsters, scoring one goal and recording eight assists for nine total points in fourteen games. Rosenbaum later recorded three assists in eight games for the Biloxi Breakers before scoring two goals and adding two assists for four total points in five games with the Blue Ridge Bobcats. He finished his first FPHL season with three goals and thirteen assists for sixteen total points. Rosenbaum also played in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) for the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs and Macon Mayhem. Prior to professional hockey, he played four seasons collegiately at SUNY Brockport (NCAA DIII, Brockport, New York), recording eighteen points in eighty-four games. His junior career included time with the Pittsburgh Vengeance and Northern Cyclones of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL). Rosenbaum was selected by Minnesota with the eleventh overall pick in the 2026 FPHL Expansion Draft. He is 6’0”, 190 lbs., and is a righthanded shot.

Brad Reitter, 31, Forward, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, skated in fifty-three games for Watertown last season, scoring seven goals and recording twenty-three assists for thirty total points. He has appeared in one hundred and sixty-eight career FPHL regular-season games, totaling thirty-two goals and eighty-two assists for one hundred and fourteen points. Reitter entered the league with the Motor City Rockers during the 2022-2023 season and produced twelve goals and thirty-five assists for forty-seven points in fifty-five games as an FPHL rookie. He remained with Motor City through the 2024-2025 season and also played twenty-eight games for the Monroe Moccasins before joining Watertown. Reitter previously spent one season with Trelleborgs IF (Sweden Division 2, Trelleborg, Sweden). His collegiate career included time at SUNY Canton (NCAA DIII, Canton, New York) and Davenport University (ACHA DI, Grand Rapids, Michigan). He also played junior hockey for the Point Mallard Ducks (NA3HL, Decatur, Alabama) and Vermont Lumberjacks (EHL, Burlington, Vermont), recording nine goals and twenty-nine assists for thirty-eight points in forty-one games with Vermont. Reitter is 5’7”, 170 lbs., and is a lefthanded shot.

Chris Corgan, 31, Forward, of Spring Lake, Michigan, appeared in forty-five games for Watertown during the 2025-2026 season, scoring four goals and recording thirteen assists for seventeen total points. He previously played eight games for Twin City during the 2021-2022 season and recorded two assists. Corgan has skated in one hundred and sixty career FPHL regular-season games, scoring twenty-seven goals and recording fifty-five assists for eighty-two total points. In addition to Twin City and Watertown, his FPHL career has included time with the Motor City Rockers, Delaware Thunder, Blue Ridge Bobcats, and Monroe Moccasins. Corgan also played eleven games for the Macon Mayhem (SPHL, Macon, Georgia), recording three assists. He appeared in one game at Northland College (NCAA DIII, Ashland, Wisconsin) before playing three seasons at Davenport University (ACHA DI, Grand Rapids, Michigan), where he totaled twenty-two goals and thirty-nine assists for sixty-one points in ninety games. Corgan’s junior career included time with the Point Mallard Ducks (NA3HL, Decatur, Alabama), Blind River Beavers (NOJHL, Blind River, Ontario), Thorold Blackhawks (GOJHL, Thorold, Ontario), Strathroy Rockets (GOJHL, Strathroy, Ontario), and Chatham Maroons (GOJHL, Chatham, Ontario). He is 6’2”, 190 lbs., and is a righthanded shot.

T.J. Prexler, 28, Forward, of Coquitlam, British Columbia, was selected by Twin City during the Pee Dee IceCats Dispersal Draft earlier this offseason. He appeared in twenty-nine games for Pee Dee during the 2025-2026 season, scoring three goals and recording two assists for five total points. Prexler made his professional hockey debut during the 2024-2025 season and appeared in thirty-two games between the Baton Rouge Zydeco, Blue Ridge Bobcats, and Danville Dashers. He scored seven goals and recorded ten assists for seventeen total points during his first FPHL season. Prexler has played in sixty-one career FPHL regular-season games, scoring ten goals and recording twelve assists for twenty-two total points. Prior to professional hockey, he played five seasons at Maryville University (ACHA DI, St. Louis, Missouri). Prexler scored forty-nine goals and recorded seventy-seven assists for one hundred and twenty-six total points in one hundred and thirty-seven collegiate games, finishing his career as Maryville’s all-time leading scorer. His junior career included time with the Bellingham Blazers (WSHL, Bellingham, Washington) and Campbell River Storm (VIJHL, Campbell River, British Columbia). He is 6’0”, 170 lbs., and is a righthanded shot.
