Thunderbirds set for Bowman Gray Stadium Appearance

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Twin City Thunderbirds will trade the ice for the track on Saturday, August 22nd, as the organization joins race fans at historic Bowman Gray Stadium for AgSouth Farm Credit Championship Night. Members of the Thunderbirds organization will participate in the pre-race push-to-grid before the evening’s racing program begins. The team will also have a table located on the stadium concourse, where fans can connect with the Thunderbirds and enter a special raffle throughout the night.

Twin City is a proud sponsor of Riley Neal Racing and the No. 07 Modified driven by Walkertown, North Carolina, native Riley Neal. Known as “The Real Deal,” Neal became the youngest race winner in Bowman Gray Stadium history during his rookie season in the Sportsman Division in 2022. He now competes in the Brad’s Golf Cars Modified Division and enters Saturday’s season finale fifth in the official standings with 516 points.

The Thunderbirds-branded No. 07 will compete in the AgSouth Farm Credit 150, the featured race on Bowman Gray’s final night of the 2026 NASCAR Local Racing Series season. Saturday’s double-points program will also include a 40-lap Sportsman race as season champions are decided at “The Madhouse.”

Saturday’s appearance continues the Thunderbirds’ growing connection with the Winston-Salem racing community. Earlier this year, Thunderbirds players assisted with snow removal at Bowman Gray Stadium ahead of the NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out Clash. The team’s efforts received extensive local television coverage and were recognized by NASCAR on FOX during the event’s national broadcast.

Gates at Bowman Gray Stadium will open Saturday at 6 p.m., with racing scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Fans are encouraged to visit the Thunderbirds’ table on the concourse, enter the team’s raffle and cheer on Riley Neal Racing throughout Championship Night.
